10 Miles Community Hiking in Guildford Surrey Hill – Saturday,6th July 2019. Organized by the Sunrise Gurkha Sports Club (SGSC)

Getting started with Hiking could be as simple as putting on your shoes and heading out of your house to your nearby forest with tiny backpack survivor kits in it. Hiking is a physically and mentally rewarding activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Even for those with no experience in hiking or even regular exercise, it can be proven pleasurable for anyone. The Surrey Hills ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ offers some of South East England’s most beautiful and accessible countryside. Opportunities abound for exploring this special area; you’ll discover breathtaking views, open commons, attractive monuments and much more.

The hills stretch across the chalk North Downs that run from Farnham in the west, above Guildford, Dorking and Reigate to Oxted in the east. The grandeur and beauty of these hills embrace an amazing variety of countryside from rolling chalk downs and flower rich grasslands to acid heaths and woodlands.

When such areas of outstanding beauty are right in the proximity of our area, we should take every advantage to see and soak the beauty of our countryside. With this on mind, SGSC is organizing its annual hike/rambling on Saturday, the 6th of July 2019. Apart from Club members, non-members are also welcome to join us on this day. Rest assured it’ll be a fun filled, pleasurable and enjoyable day as we ramble along in our own pace. So get on your gear folks and join us on the day.
